Arum guarantees Pacquiao that fight with Cotto will be for WBO belt

Team Pacquiao was said to have been ready to move on. They were perhaps looking at other options such as "Sugar" Shane Mosley, Floyd Mayweather Jr. or even Timothy Bradley who defeated Nate Campbell last Saturday because of a headbutt.
That's according to Pacquiao's lawyer Jeng Gacal as reported by Philstar.com. Gacal said,
“Bob Arum told us not to believe everything that’s being reported. Then he assured me that Cotto will put his WBO welterweight title on the line -- at 145 pounds,”
Believing what Arum says however is like cutting a deal with the devil. What guarantee can you really put on a person that made the quote “yesterday I was lying but today I am telling the truth” popular and lives by it?
“We have to take Mr. Arum’s word on that,”
Gacal elaborated.
Well, they didn't really have to, especially since Gacal is a lawyer himself which a lot of people consider as a craft that practices professional lying.
If what Gacal says is indeed true then Arum will be personally asking the question he posed a week ago when he asked

"Why pay $150,000 for five dollar belt?"

Well, because Pacquiao says so.

But for whatever it's worth, I guess the writing is in the wall. Pacquiao vs. Cotto will be a title fight or else it will never be. Pacquiao fans and those who rallied behind our NY Examiner Michael Marley's campaign should pat themselves in the back. You got what you wanted! Even if it's really not what every single boxing fan in the world truly wanted- which is a mega-fight between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.
