Manny Pacquiao almosts pulls out of Miguel Cotto Fight - Bob Arum diffuses the volatile situation!

he highly anticipated match up between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto was almost derailed yesterday. Pacquiao came very close to ending his showdown with Cotto because it was heavily reported that Cotto's title would not be on the line when the two faced off on November 14th.

Legendary Promoter Bob Arum who represents both Pacquiao and Cotto has assured Pacquiao that the reports are not to be believed and Cotto will indeed put his WBO title on the line.

Franklin Gacal who represents Pacquiao as his lawyer, tells Abac Cordero of The Philippine Star that yesterday they were already preparing to release an official statement stating that Pacquiao will have to commence a search for another viable opponent because of the reports indicating that Cotto would not be staking 147 lb title.

It seems that Arum has diffused the volatile situation.

Gacal quoted by the Star stated: "Bob Arum told us not to believe everything that’s being reported. Then he assured me that Cotto will put his WBO welterweight title on the line -- at 145 pounds.” Gacal added to the publication: “We have to take Mr. Arum’s word on that,” added Gacal.
